Finding a replacement vacuum charger is not just about matching the brand name. Chargers must match electrical specifications and connector type exactly.
Using the wrong charger can damage the battery, the vacuum, or create a safety risk.
This guide explains how compatibility works.
Step 1: Match the Voltage (V)
Voltage must match exactly.
If your original charger says:
18V → Replacement must be 18V
25.2V → Replacement must be 25.2V
29.4V → Replacement must be 29.4V
Even small differences can cause:
• Battery overheating
• Failure to charge
• Permanent battery damage
Never guess voltage.
Step 2: Check the Amperage (A)
Amperage can match or exceed the original rating.
Example:
Original charger: 18V 1A
Replacement: 18V 2A → Safe
Higher amperage does not force extra power into the vacuum. It simply means the charger can supply up to that amount if needed.
Lower amperage may result in:
• Very slow charging
• Charger overheating
Step 3: Confirm the Connector Type
Even with correct voltage and amperage, the plug must physically match.
Check:
• Barrel size (inner and outer diameter)
• Pin configuration
• Polarity (+/- orientation)
If the connector does not fit perfectly, do not force it.
Step 4: Model Number Verification
The safest method is confirming compatibility using:
• Vacuum model number
• Original charger model number
This information is usually printed:
• On the bottom of the vacuum
• On the battery housing
• On the charger label
If you have confirmed your voltage and model number, you can check compatible replacement chargers here.

When Compatibility Is Unclear
If you cannot confirm voltage or plug type:
• Do not purchase blindly
• Avoid “looks similar” assumptions
• Consider universal adjustable chargers only if voltage is verified
